DJ Primo Last Update For 2009

I hope and pray you had a great turkey day. As my wife says "Thanksgiving is daily for us"

Just to give you a quick update on what's going on in my life, ministry and other things.


2009 has been a great year, this is actually a year I was a full civilian. Let me explain, back in 2008 and 2007 I was gone most of the time due to my military service. 2010 looks like is going to be a short year for me as a civilian. I'm in the Army reserve and I'm getting ready to go overseas for next year. 2010 I'm going to be very busy with my duties as a soldier and as a family man.

You probably won't hear much of "DJ Primo" mixes or anything music and video related. I'm going to be spending time with my family and only doing music and video related thing as a service to those that inquire for it. I still have a good load of videos and 1 final December Mixtape I'm going to be making available to the individuals in my "Mix Club", but after that no more mixtapes or videos will available to the general public. My focus will be a bit more on those that are part of the "MIX CLUB" who have been very supportive financially with donations and subscription payments. I'm also going to be cancelling my podcast on iTunes.
This year alone I had over 88,000 downloads and for that I thank GOD, but I think is time for me to cancel it and make the mixes available only to those that are in the mix club.


May you have a great Christmas and a happy new year for this will also be my last email for this year.

I ask that you keep me and my family lifted as for this is going to be my 3rd deployment in support of the war on terror.

Benefit Concert For The James Family

Many of us have been mourning the death of our dear brother in Christ, Juan "Enock" James, who went to be with the Lord Saturday October 17th, 2009. Although our brother is in a better place, many of us in the Christian hip hop ministry and industry will miss him greatly. In times like these, we come together as the body of Christ to offer a hand to the immediate family left behind. Although nothing we do will take away the grief that his loved ones are experiencing , we can show our love and support in other ways.

We are asking the Christian hip hop community to attend, donate, and support the Enock Benefit Concert celebrationg the life of Juan "Enock" James. Much Luvv Records will be hosting this benefit concert on Tuesday, October 27th from 7:30pm - 9:30pm at The Prince Complex 3000 Jensen Dr. Houston, TX 77026.


Christian artists will have the opportunity to donate financially by paying a $25 per song registration fee. Once your payment is made we will contact you within 2 days about your performance time slot. Admission to the event will be free, and a love offering will be collected at the event. If you are unable to attend this event but would like to make a donation, please see the information below. 100% of all registration fees and donations will be given to Mrs. Natalie James.

What's up family!

Hip Hop Hope Tuesday
I've been back from a military school phase 1 and I'm back into serving at the Hip Hop Hope Tuesday. We are going to continue with the outreach there at 3000 Jensen (Houston, TX) at the Prince complex, so make sure you come by and say what's up to your boy. Every Tuesday at 7:30 PM (1930 hrs) CST

New Mixtape
I'm working on another mixtape and the goal is to have it done by the end of this month. It will be a "regular speed" mixtape. I'm thinking about either a 116 Clique Remix/Mash up Mixtape or a mixture of a lot of artist mixed over each other's beats or the "NOT Ridin' Slow" Mixtape. Don't know yet, but I promise I will make every effort to make it as hot as possible. 25 tracks non-stop blended and mixed all the Way through, no iPod on shuffle type of mixtape from me!!!

1st HD CHOPPED-N-SCREWED VIDEO
Everything is getting better on the VJin' side for me. Now I can do HD videos!!! that's right HD. As I was editing a video last week I learned to export my videos as HD on the software that I use. Praise God for that!!! You can watch the video on my vimeo page and even download it, but you must register with www.vimeo.com first.






HD VIDEO MIXTAPE
I'm getting more videos as time goes by and I will be putting together a VIDEO MIXTAPE...what? That’s right a video mixtape at a regular speed for those that are not into chopped and screwed. I will have music videos and live performances from your favorite CHH/HHH artists such as Dre Murray, Big Al, Knine, Tre9, S.O.M, ICECE, Sean Slaughter and more. I'm hoping to have it done by December, maybe as a Christmas present for you all, so be good :-)



OUTREACH
This past Sunday I had another great opportunity to share my gift through the use of my turntables at an amazing outreach. The stage was two 53’ flat bed trailers placed side by side. My good friend and youth pastor at Faith Builders Church Rob Diaz invited me to this outreach. Through out the whole day the Gospel was being proclaimed through many different ways. The whole Bound 4 Glory Records crew was there, Danny El Ex-Grifo, Brother Joseph, Gifted (Much Luvv!), Testimony, Faith Builders Church, Rallies for Christ, HZM ministries (TC thanks for the chocolates. lol), One Way Student Ministries and many believers. School supplies were given to the people as well as the word of God. It was a hot day, but not record melting thank God.

What's good family,
Just a quick update on what's poppin' on my side.
The last 3 weeks have been busy for me. I've been spending more time with my family and also volunteering to DJ for some of my Christian brothers and sisters.

We have 2 more weeks of Hip Hop Hop Tuesdays at the Prince Complex in 5th Ward (Houston, TX) and I'm amazed at what God has done with some of the young people in the community. I'm also encouraged by saints that come through and tell us that they are praying for the type of ministry we do. Keep us in prayer as we approach the end of this 8 week local missions assignment.

I haven't recorded a lot of mixes lately, but I'm going to start again. I will start a new radio show or mixshow pretyy soon. The name is "Choppin' it Up with DJ Primo". This mixshow or radio show (still don't know what format I'm going to use...maybe a combo of both) will be done on a monthly basis through downloads as well as a CD!!! that's right I will have it on CD for those of you that are not down with the digital music yet. The CD will be free all you have to do is pay for shipping and handling.
